Parti Socialiste

The Socialist Party is a social-democratic political party in France and was, for decades, the largest party of the French centre-left. The PS used to be one of the two major political parties in the French Fifth Republic, along with the Republicans.

Alliantie Centriste

The Centrist Alliance is a centrist political party in France. It was founded in June 2009 by Jean Arthuis, a former member of the Union for French Democracy and currently Member of European parliament, where he also serves as chair of the Committee on Budgets. The party is seen as a successor to Arthuis’ Rally the Centrists political association, whose main tenet was to re-create the UDF which was dissolved upon creation of the MoDem and the New Centre. Because of Arthuis’ high standing within the Centrist Union group in the French Senate, the AC has ten Senators but only two deputies.

The Left in France was represented at the beginning of the 20th century by two main political parties: the Republican, Radical and Radical-Socialist Party and the French Section of the Workers’ International, created in 1905 as a merger of various Marxist parties.

CDA

The Christian Democratic Party is a conservative Christian-democratic party in France. The party was known as the Forum of Social Republicans between 2001 and June 2009 before being adopting its current name. The party was founded by Christine Boutin.

Europe Ecologie Les Verts

The Greens was a green-ecologist political party in France. The Greens had been in existence since 1984, but their spiritual roots could be traced as far back as René Dumont’s candidacy for the presidency in 1974. On 13 November 2010, The Greens merged with Europe Ecology to become Europe Ecology – The Greens.

Ensemble

Ensemble is a French political party, defining itself as anti-capitalist, anti-racist, feminist, and eco-socialist, and was launched in November 2013. The membership of Ensemble is made up of activists coming from various left-wing and radical political traditions: altercommunist, trotskyist, feminist, "red-green", ecologist, etc., as well as trade unionists and global justice activists (alterglobalists). Ensemble aims towards strengthening the Left Front by building a broad movement against austerity. It opposes all forms of inequality, racism, and oppression, including homophobia,…  Lees verder islamophobia, and antisemitism, and seeks to develop links with anti-capitalist groupings outside the Left Front, including more left-wing members of Europe Ecology - The Greens. Internationally, it has been involved in discussions and joint activities with the Party of the European Left, Podemos (Spain), Syriza (Greece), Sinn Féin (Ireland), the Left Bloc (Portugal), and others.

Parti Communiste Français

The French Communist Party is a communist party in France. Although its electoral support has declined in recent decades, the PCF retains a strong influence in French politics, especially at the local level. In 2012, the PCF claimed 138,000 members including 70,000 who have paid their membership fees.

Martinikaanse Independence Movement

The Martinican Independence Movement or MIM is a left-wing political party in the overseas department of Martinique, founded July 1, 1978 by Alfred Marie-Jeanne with the aim of securing "the decolonization and independence of Martinique". Its secretary is the deputy and president of the Regional Council of Martinique.

Mouvement Démocrate

The Democratic Movement is a centrist political party in France that is characterised by a strong pro-European stance. MoDem was founded by François Bayrou to succeed the Union for French Democracy and contest the 2007 legislative election, after his strong showing in the 2007 presidential election.
